Our Management Group is also made up of volunteers, men and women who govern the scheme so that the staff and home-visiting volunteers can get on with the job of supporting families.
Management Group members are called Trustees. They are not responsible for the day to day running of the scheme but carry out a range of duties to ensure the scheme is effective, provide overall direction and maintain sound management of funds.
Our Trustees come from all walks of life, bringing their experience and individual skills to the scheme. No special qualifications are needed however just a genuine interest in supporting parents in the community, some common sense and ability to be part of the team. We also have some Advisors on the group. They are people who have a professional interest in Home-Start Dunfermline and include a Health Visitor, Educational Home Visitor and a representative from the Children's Panel.
Management Group Meetings take place every two months, at lunchtime, and usually last just over one hour. Sub-Groups meet in the intervening month and report back to the main Group. There are sub groups for publicity and promoting our work, staffing, Quality Assurance and policy. An ongoing program of fundraising activities is planned to ensure we have money to buy the 'extras' for families.
11m people say they would volunteer for charity work if only someone asked them..... We always have spaces for new trustees so if you think you would fit the bill, please get in touch!
